Where it all started...
After graduating in Theatre Studies from Lancaster University, I gained some life and work experience working for charities and arts organisations for a few years.
But the acting bug was still calling! I applied to drama school and got a place at Drama Studio London (think it was my dying Iguana that nailed it). Since 2006, I’ve worked on screen, on stage and in the booth.
I love being behind a microphone, ever since I recorded a song from The Iron Man at Eel Pie Studios with Pete Townsend and some of my junior school classmates (not quite the talented musicians he was used to working with I’m sure!)
At drama school, I was told I had a voice made for radio (not a face, luckily) and fell in love with audiodrama. In fact, the first audio job I had won Silver Radio Award, Best Drama Special at the New York Festivals!
After dedicating time and investment into VO-specific training, I set up my studio in 2018 and have been building my business ever since.
20 years using my creative instincts as a trained Actor means I’m adaptable and flexible
I can run with whatever is thrown my way. Script changes needed halfway through a session? No problem – I’m practiced in sight-reading and impro and happy to go with the flow!
What will you have heard me in?
Not everything I record goes out into the public domain – it’s for an internal B2B project or a live event for example.
I love working with production companies to record explainer and/ or corporate videos for organisations like the NHS Maternity Services and the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists (there seems to be a theme here), various County Councils and Universities, the RNIB, CIPD, England Rugby, Clearcast and many more!
You might catch me conjuring up characters in videogames such as Battlefield 6, Dragonquest III, Skull ‘n Bones and The Settlers – creating spells, playing pirates and mages or an 17th century Moll leading a live audience on an audioguide adventure over the City of London.
I’ve enjoyed narrating audiobooks too – from shortened kids’ classics to non-fiction to dark romance…
And I’ve been the Voice of God (pre-recorded) for three seasons of Wheel of Fortune UK on ITV and in person at the Forbes CMO Summit Europe, held at BAFTA.
As you can see no job is too big, no script is too small!
And I genuinely care about playing my part to ensure your project is the best it can be. Whatever I am hired for, I go above and beyond to ensure you are completely happy.
