How can we work together?
Customer service is paramount and I go above and beyond to make the process as smooth as possible.
This is the system I’ve found that tends to work best for both of us –
1) Get in touch
Via email, phone or contact form. Or contact my Agent directly.
Let me know about your project...
If you can give as much information as possible about your project and query, that is really helpful as quotes can be given more accurately.
What is the project? (an animated explainer, an e-learning project, documentary etc)
Who is the client? If you can’t say at this stage, please let me know which sector it’s for
How long is the script? A rough word count could be useful or an estimated duration
Which medium will the content be used on? (radio, TV, internet, internal only, social media, client website?)
Where will the content be shown geographically? Locally, nationally, internationally?
Will the content be used as part of a paid for commercial campaign?
How long will the content be used for?
Do you have a budget in mind?
Do you have the script? Send a section over with any steer on tone, pace and who the audience is and I can record a short sample to see if it fits your vision
What’s your deadline?
2) Custom Demos and Bespoke Quotes
If you’ve asked for a short sample, this will be sent to you, along with a quote if you need
Rates
For transparency – with the exception of e-learning which is priced by word and audiobooks which are calculated on a per finished hour rate, there will always be a BSF (basic studio/session fee) which covers the following:
Preparation and script consultation
A professionally trained actress and voiceover
Hire of my professional studio and audio engineering service
To voice and edit my reads so you have a clean, produced and broadcast quality audio file
Retakes of any errors made
Supply of audio via WeTransfer, Googledrive or Dropbox
WAV files kept and stored for 2 years
And then there might be a usage fee on top of that, depending on where the content is being used and who the client is – all subject to negotiation.
Each project is different and that means each quote is bespoke. The more information you can give upfront the easier it is to quote and then we can get on with the fun stuff. The Gravy for the Brain Rate Card is a great reference to start from if you’re unsure.
3) Confirm the booking
If you’d like to go ahead, here are some things to think about:
- Would you like to direct the session or leave it to me to self-direct? I’m happy to do what you prefer! We can easily set up a session with you listening in on Zoom, Teams, Google Meets, or connecting and recording via Clean Feed, Source Nexus, BodalgoCall, and even Source Connect Standard if you have it at your end too. I always record at my end even if you are too, as a backup.
- How would you like your files delivered? WAV, MP3, AIFF? I can send them via WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox
- And do you want the files raw or edited at my end?
- Contract and Terms and Conditions will be sent over, so that there’s full transparency and if you can whizz over the final script, that would be marvellous, so I can get to work on it
4) Recording takes place aka the fun, creative bit!
The recording takes place either live or self-directed and the files get delivered to you
5) Sign off and invoicing aka the not so fun (but necessary!) bit
- If you’re satisfied with the recording, an invoice will be sent. Payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice.
- If this is the first time we worked together and you’re as happy as Larry, I might pop over a link for a Linkedin or Google Review testimonial if you have a spare couple of minutes (I know you’re busy!)
- And if you’re able to send me a copy of the finished piece of work when it’s ready, I would be eternally grateful.
If you have any other questions – feel free to get in touch. There are honestly no silly questions!
